She grinned at the sight of Linneus, and waved in reply “I’m alright dear, I’ve been trying to figure out the schedules for Atros…” she flicked her hand back and forth in the air, as if it were an unimportant job, when really she just wanted to forget what a struggle it had been trying to get organized.
“I’d actually love some… do you have any mint tea?” she asked, peeking over his shoulder as if to look for the tea herself. “How are you doing?” Claret met his gaze and smiled sweetly at her friend.
“Actually, that’s what I made— I normally prefer Earl Grey, but today mint tea sounded nice.” He gives her a charming smile and pours her a cup, crushing pink tresses away from his face, sweeping them behind his ear. Handing her the cup, Linneus nudged the bowl of sugar cubes towards her as well, and smiles lightly. “I’ve been… ” There were a million things he could have said, but all that came out was “fine,” although it wasn’t entirely true, it worked. Taking another sip of his own lightly sweetened tea, he looks over at her once more. “I hope you haven’t been too over-worked?” Though, she didn’t get many clients, so he supposed the other work made up for it.
“Mmm” She sighed, inhaling the scent of the fresh mint tea, “It’s always been my favorite. Thanks.” Claret took the cup into her hands and grinned at Linneus as he nudged the sugars towards her- He knew her well. Nothing was ever too sweet for her taste. After adding three- and resisting a fourth- sugar cubes to her tea, she stirred her cup and took a sip. It was warm, and relaxing. She sighed, and then realized her friend was responding to her question. Fine. Hm… Fine didn’t always mean good. She contemplated over what she should say in response; she hoped she wasn’t being rude, but she couldn’t help her curiosity. “Just fine, Linneus?” she asked him, sweetly, “I hope you’re not being overworked… which I’m not, by the way. Everyone knows I don’t do nearly enough work to earn my stay here..” She said, with a subconscious pout. Her words were a repeat of what Lilith had been so kind to remind her countless times in the past.
